The Swan Dive: Embodied Dance
December 4th
Time: 3-5PM
The Swan Dive
A two-hour workshop for teachers, and those who want to explore embodied dance and movement. Learn to shake up your routine, explore rhythm and musicality, and see what happens when structure takes a backseat to feeling.
We’ll play with phrasing, balance, and a few deliciously odd transitions. Expect to stretch into strange new spaces, flirt with choreography, and find new ways of being in your body.
This is the kind of class that will help to develop your gifts as a teacher, a lover of movement, and will shake up your routine. This class is artfully designed to help you feel more centred and confident in movement exploration.
The Session will be led by good friend and artist: Mark Reinhart. Rooted in Pilates, informed by yoga, and inspired by dance, Mark’s movement practice is an ongoing conversation between rhythm, length, balance, and breath. His classes are permissive and playful, an open door for curiosity to enter. Expect to move through sequences that blend athletic precision with artistic exploration, where structure and freedom find a steady handshake.
A former gymnast, soccer player, runner, cyclist, climber, and dancer, Mark draws from a lifetime of motion to create workshops that carve out space in the body, and, by extension, in the self. Set to deep, soulful, and sometimes delightfully groovy soundscapes, his sessions invite students to move, feel, and listen for their own pulse within the collective heartbeat of the room.
Let’s move, and be moved together.
