MOXIBUSTION WORKSHOP AT SEQUINS - Harnessing the healing powers of the New Moon.
Thursday, November 20th at 7:00 PM - CLICK HERE TO PURCHASE
As the days darken and we draw closer to winter, SEQUINS invites you into a passage of ritual and renewal. On this evening, join TCM practitioner Carinn from Bridge Health and SEQUINS founder Mackenzie for a 90-minute gathering shaped by tradition, warmth, and the lunar cycle.
We begin with the story and method of the New Moon 8-Day Practice, a centuries-old ritual designed to strengthen and restore. From there, you’ll move into the quiet fire of moxa—tending the glowing herb yourself—and close with Duck Comfit, our signature fascia release sequence, to ease the body into softness. You’ll leave with the moon’s invitation to begin again.
What is Moxibustion?
Moxibustion, or moxa, is an ancient Chinese therapy that uses the glowing heat of dried mugwort to move qi and restore balance. Administered as a smoldering stick or cone held just above the skin, it is often placed on the Stomach 36 point below the knee—renowned for strengthening digestion, immunity, and vitality.
Moxa is used to ease pain, boost energy, and warm the body against cold or stagnation. Practiced for the eight days following each New Moon, it aligns with lunar renewal and fortifies us as we move into the winter season.
What’s Included
A booklet on moxa, covering its history, purpose, and practice
Your own moxa burning kit to take home for continued ritual
A 90-minute immersive workshop experience blending teaching, practice, and restorative release
